Levi T. and Myra Beidler Bleam Memorial Scholarship

The Levi T. and Myra Beidler Bleam Memorial Scholarship was founded in 2008 to support students a Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) as they prepare for ministry and leadership in the church.

In keeping with the intent of the fund, priority consideration may be given to applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Students who are or have been members or associates of East Swamp Church, Quakertown, PA
• Students who are descendents of Levi T and Myra Beidler Bleam
• Students who are members of any Eastern District Conference congregation (now Mennonite Mosaic Conference)

All qualified students are eligible to apply and will be considered. When applicants do not meet the preferred criteria, the scholarship may be awarded to other students who demonstrate financial need and alignment with the purposes of the fund.

As of June 30, 2025, the scholarship's market value was $237,991. The earnings are paid out annually to cover approximately 79% of tuition.

More about Levi and Myra

Levi Bleam, born Sept. 3, 1868, and Myra Beidler, born June 15, 1872, were married in February 1894. Levi was a butcher and Myra a homemaker. Together they raised seven children. The Bleams were active members of East Swamp Mennonite Church in Quakertown, Pa. Now their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are carrying on that legacy of involvement in ministry and church leadership. The family has chosen to carry out this commitment to the church by establishing a scholarship fund. This fund is intended to honor the lives and memory of Levi and Myra Beidler Bleam and to assist students in their preparation for ministry at AMBS.
