Ella Mae Lehman Memorial Scholarship for International Women

The Ella Mae Lehman Memorial Scholarship for International Women was founded in 1999 to support students a Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) as they prepare for ministry and leadership in the church, with particular attention to global leadership development.

In keeping with the intent of the fund, priority consideration is given to international students, including women, who demonstrate a strong Christian faith and a commitment to ministry in their home contexts or in international settings.

All qualified students are eligible to apply and will be considered. When applicants do not meet the preferred criteria, the scholarship may be awarded to other students who demonstrate financial need and alignment with the purposes of the fund.

As of June 30, 2025, the scholarship's market value was $162,244. The earnings are paid out annually to cover approximately 50% of tuition.

More about Ella Mae

Ella Mae served with Mennonite Central Committee and Menno Travel service in Congo and Kenya. She was active in ministry, beginning with her home congregation in Kidron, Ohio. She had a deep love of learning, and modeled a profound faith in and love of God. This scholarship fund will help perpetuate things of significance to her: ministry in the church, love of learning, and support for people--particularly women--throughout the worldwide church.
