Ella Mae Lehman Memorial Scholarship for International Women

The Ella Mae Lehman Memorial Scholarship for International Women was founded in 1999 to make theological education at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) more affordable. The scholarship provides funds to:

• A full- or part-time female student, and
• Has a strong Christian faith and the ability to succeed in seminary study, and
• Originates outside North American or plans to serve abroad.
• If there are no students in a year who meet the above guidelines, the scholarship may be awarded to any student demonstrating financial need.

As of June 30, 2024, the scholarship's market value was $150,484. The earnings are paid out annually to cover approximately 50% of tuition.

More about Ella Mae

Ella Mae served with Mennonite Central Committee and Menno Travel service in Congo and Kenya. She was active in ministry, beginning with her home congregation in Kidron, Ohio. She had a deep love of learning, and modeled a profound faith in and love of God. This scholarship fund will help perpetuate things of significance to her: ministry in the church, love of learning, and support for people--particularly women--throughout the worldwide church.
