Arthur H and Viola V Friesen Scholarship
The Arthur H and Viola V Friesen Scholarship was founded in 2004 to make theological education at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) more affordable. The scholarship provides funds to:
- A Native American student
- A student interested in Native American ministries
As of June 30, 2024, the scholarship's market value was $37,650. The earnings are paid out annually to cover approximately 13% of tuition.

More about Arthur and Viola
Arthur H. Friesen, Reedley, Calif., and Viola V. Graber, Freeman, S.D., met as older students at Bethel College in North Newton, Kan. Both were interested in mission work and attended one year at Bethany Biblical Seminary in Chicago (1939-1940), prior to the formation of Mennonite Biblical Seminary. They served as missionaries to the Cheyenne and Arapahoe in Oklahoma from 1940 to 1958 under the General Conference Mennonite Church Board of Foreign Missions. They were life-long supporters of Mennonite Biblical Seminary and AMBS.
