Like Jane, a call to Christian ministry became clear to me in early adulthood so I found ways to serve others outside of formal ministry. And, like Jane, I attended seminary later in life, helped, in part, by the scholarship set up in her memory. I now serve the congregation that she helped to start in the 1980's in northern Illinois. I am so grateful that Jane's courageous work and the scholarship in her name have helped encourage women to have faith in the calls stirring within them! – Anne Munley, MDiv, 2019, Mundelein, Illinois
Attending seminary in the US can be challenging for many international students. As an international student, my biggest concern was finances when I decided to attend AMBS. But the generosity of this scholarship made my learning journey a lot different in so many ways. I am able to focus on my studies and future ministry without worrying about my school expenses. This would have been impossible without the help of this scholarship. Thank you so much for supporting my education!

I have been a pastor for thirty years. Feeling the desire to pursue seminary studies for twenty seven of those years but not able to due to finances and a very busy pastoral duty schedule. Although it is later in my life that I am able to attend seminary studies, I am very thankful for the opportunity. It is a blessing and I hope these will help me become a better interpreter and teacher of the Bible. Thank you for your contribution in helping me attain a lifelong dream.

First of all, I want to say, “Thank you!” Your generous gift has helped me complete my study in Theology and Peace Studies at AMBS. However, I believe the influence that you have planted through your generosity will continue even more. As for now, I continue my study in a Ph.D. program in Theology and Ethics at Villanova University, PA. I believe what I have achieved so far cannot be separated from your prayers and willingness to share your life with us at AMBS. After finishing my doctoral study, I aspire to prepare future Church and Christian leaders through teaching. Please continue to pray for me, as the path is not always easy.

Like Jane Friesen, I grew up in Kansas, and I am proud to continue to call this beautiful state my home. It has meant so much to have the assistance of this scholarship, as my own seminary journey has begun in the middle of a busy season parenting two young children. To be able to undertake this endeavor with so little debt only adds to the liberation I am experiencing by finally entering into this calling in my late 30s. – Laura Rhodes, MATGA, 2025, Wichita, Kansas
