I have been ministering as a part-time minister at one of the local churches of Meseret Kristos Denomination. The reason I enrolled to study at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) is to enhance my spiritual and cognitive development. I am very grateful for joining AMBS and for a considerable number of people like Keith who are supporting me financially, which helps me to continue my study. – Beka Biratu, MACF, 2022, Alexandria, Virginia (originally from Ethiopia)
I'm very grateful for this scholarship, which helped make my attendance at AMBS possible. My MA Peace Studies program was fundamental to the work that I have done since graduating, both in navigating the work of discipleship and reconciliation training among young people in Northern Ireland as well as further doctoral study in intercultural studies. In both of these endeavors, I continue to build upon the foundation of understanding that I received from my AMBS education. I am deeply grateful for the way that my participation at AMBS continues to inform my work and has given me intellectual and theological resources and formation that I'm able to use to bless young people from around the world and help to build the Kingdom of God in areas of conflict and division. – Austin Roberts, MAPS, 2016, Northern Ireland
I am honored to be one of the recipients of the Keith Gingrich Memorial Scholarship. Thanks to your generous support. Growing up in a less privileged community has not only offered financial and academic challenges but has also helped me realize the value of a Seminary education. My educational pursuits would not be possible without generous support from scholarship sponsors. Thank you for enabling this opportunity! After I graduated from AMBS, I started a holistic ministry in Ethiopia through missional business where more than ten Christians who have a business background are benefited. My plan at this stage is to send ministers in Muslim populated areas in Ethiopia to evangelize and plant churches. – Tesfaye Robelle, MAPS, 2019, Ethiopia
Growing up, my mother constantly reminded my siblings and I of the mystery of being a traveler in pursuit of the will of God: one should always remember that where one comes from can be as important as where one is going! This idiom abbreviates a call to self-awareness and God-awareness, as well as total God-fidence. Mother never had all the answers to questions arising in the uncertain space between origin and destination but firmly underlined that as long as God was the source of the journey, God would, in God's transcendental ways, resource the journey! This is the power of the Keith Gingrich Memorial Scholarship! It came as a God-send that enabled coming to AMBS in 2019. This visionary financial support has not only affirmed the challenging step of yielding close to twenty years of multi-thematic work in peacebuilding, humanitarian relief, and development for an inexplicable and much needed time in ministerial development by the deep faith community at AMBS, but also much more in the realm of a faith legacy in the making. May its legacy live on as I too, gratefully anticipate to pay it forward. – Sibonokuhle Ncube, MDiv, 2022, Goshen, Indiana (originally from Zimbabwe)
