A former AMBS admissions counselor always remembers that ten years had passed between my first email to him until I decided to apply. Argentina has an economy that suffers chronic inflation. It is unthinkable to afford an education that has to be paid in US dollars. After that first email, the desire to attend seminary only became stronger until I decided to apply and see. I would have given up without the scholarships that helped me to think of doing the unthinkable and to afford what was unaffordable. This scholarship played a major role in my journey these last three years and I pray that it grows so this can be the story of many more in the future. – Marcos Acosta, MDiv, 2021, Homestead, Florida (originally from Argentina)
I am deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to study at AMBS and to have received my MDiv. The professors, students, administration and experiences both on and off campus all contributed to a well-rounded theological education that has served me well as a chaplain in medical settings and now as a pastor of a local Mennonite congregation. I thank God for the Norman S. Gingerich Scholarship that helped support my education. Thank you for your ongoing, generous commitment to help fund seminary education for students in financial need. – Teresa Geiser, MDiv, 2012, Elkhart, IN
