I feel honored to have received a scholarship devoted to the biblical and theological education of women. Whatever our ministry goals may be, there should be a place for women to learn more about God, God’s word, the church, and ways to serve both God and church. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to do that at AMBS. – Sophia Austin, MDiv, 2020, Palmyra, Missouri
This scholarship has made my theological education possible. I came to AMBS after several years working in international policy advocacy with Mennonite Central Committee, which piqued my interest in theology and peace processes. Here at the seminary, I’m able to fortify my theological foundations with the help of my professors and mentors, and in the company of a vibrant community. I’m excited to see how the influence of my education will continue to unfold. I’m so grateful to be a recipient of the Nancy Swartzentruber Lapp Scholarship and honored to be one of many women attending this seminary in the hopes of challenging and changing the Anabaptist world. – Abby Hershberger, MATPS, 2023, Lancaster, Pennsylvania
