I am from East Africa, Ethiopia and a second-year student at AMBS in the Master of Art in Christian Formation program. The generosity and support of this scholarship has been making my learning journey a lot different in many ways. I am able to focus on my study and future goals without worrying about my school expenses. This could have been impossible without the benefit of this scholarship. Thank you so much for your financial support! – Misgana Eshete, MACF, 2024, Goshen, Indiana (originally from Ethiopia)

By the grace of God and by the grant from Ross Ringenberg Memorial Scholarship, I can pursue my further studies here at AMBS. I have been enjoying my time here in AMBS as I have grown in knowing, being, and doing as a reflective practitioner. I have learned how to be an effective agent of God's reconciling mission strategically, and personally. I have been challenged and transformed in many ways especially in my understanding of God's Word in a fresh way. I have been empowered to believe that God's calling for me is first to follow him as God of Peace and to join him in sharing the Gospel of Peace and doing his Great Reconciliation's mission in the midst of division, brokenness, and desperation. Thank you for your support and investment. I believe this training will equip me to be a change-maker in my community, especially in Indonesia and beyond. – Andi O. Santoso, MATPS, 2022, Elkhart, Indiana (originally from Indonesia)

When I received the Ross Ringenberg scholarship, I didn't realize that it would mean more than the financial support that was critical to my being able to study at AMBS. However, as I learned about Ross's life--how he was no stranger to struggle and limitation and yet embraced a life full of learning, adventure, and service--I was touched by his example; I would love for my life to be such a testament to curiosity and community. Then the personal interest that Ron and Frances took in me when we corresponded added to the sense of hope and encouragement that I received. Although we never met, I felt invited into a web of relationship in Ross's memory, giving me a sense that whatever my struggles, there are people who care and understand that life may give us unexpected paths. I continue to be encouraged to find ways to build meaningful connections as I embrace a life of learning and exploring. – Rachel Joy, alumna, 2016-2020, Portland, Oregon

Originally I am from Ethiopia. One of the main reasons I decided to join AMBS three years ago is because I saw that AMBS is a perfect place for me to bring together my commitment to nonviolent peacemaking, peacebuilding and justice-seeking with theological insight.  To my surprise, I found AMBS a good place for critical thinking, growth in both intellectual and spiritual. Above all, your generosity makes my seminary education affordable and enjoyable. – Henok Mekonin, MATPS, 2021, Ethiopia
