As a new part-time seminary student and stay-at-home mother, we appreciated very much the financial assistance provided by the Alma Eymann Scholarship. This helped to make my seminary classes more affordable for our single-income young family. Studying pastoral care and counseling at AMBS has given me skills that I have used in every Mennonite congregation that I have been part of, strengthening my leadership abilities and helping me to better contribute to the life of the congregation and church conference. - Kathy Nofziger Yeakey, MDiv, Goshen, Indiana

I attended AMBS many years ago, and received tuition help that reduced my out of pocket costs. In reflecting on my time at AMBS - I valued at the time and still today, the opportunity to reflect on my ministry - in between mission / pastoral work.  I was helped with reflecting on my work with professors, with being able to use many classroom assignments to think back and plan forward for my next phase of ministry, as well as conversations with students. I attended AMBS, one year or more, at a time, after serving in Papua New Guinea for 3 and 1/2 years, then in Brasil for 4 years, then a year at AMBS, and a final term in Brasil before pastoring in the US and then Canada.  So there were many opportunities to "learn as I ministered," with the breaks between with classes and people.  This was invaluable for me, spiritually, pastoral development, and Bible knowledge - as well as the other focuses that classes provided. - Dan Graber, MDiv, 1992, Drake Saskatchewan
