Keith David Benner Scholarship

The Keith David Benner Scholarship was founded in 2006 to support students a Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (AMBS) as they prepare for ministry and leadership in the church.

In keeping with the intent of the fund, priority consideration may be given to applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Students pursuing studies in the discipline of Peace & Justice and/or Anabaptist Church History
  • Students pursuing studies leading to Pastoral Ministry with a primary interest in serving the underprivileged or those wishing to study church history at the doctoral level

All qualified students are eligible to apply and will be considered. When applicants do not meet the preferred criteria, the scholarship may be awarded to other students who demonstrate financial need and alignment with the purposes of the fund.

As of June 30, 2025, the scholarship's market value was $52,645. The earnings are paid out annually to cover approximately 18% of tuition.

More about Keith

Keith's passion for education, justice and peace were evident in his life and studies. Before attending AMBS he had worked around the world. He spent time in Alaska as a bush pilot where he flew cargo to remote Inuit villages. He also took his love of flying and desire to aid those less fortunate to the Democratic Republic of Congo where he flew for AirServe, an international organization that flies relief supplies and teams for the United Nations and non-governmental agencies.

This scholarship is established to further his lofty goals of establishing Peace and Justice around the world as interpreted through Biblical Principles and his Anabaptist heritage.
